This weeks lecture and activities were held by Group 3 - Ruta, Niamh & Yan. As a general team topic they had chosen Interactive/Immersive art, Ruta spoke about interactive art in the gallery context and how it could be developed, and the Cleveland Artlense Gallery.Then Niamh, she spoke about the use of AR in supporting Cultural Heritage. Then Yan, spoke about the idea of bringing tech based art out of the environmental setting of a gallery.
This week we had an amazing activity about learning about the interactivity in art , museum and other public places. In this activity we were given an artist to explore, his paintings and expected to create an interactive experience to encourage tourism.
The activity box was so good. and had lots of tools like Markers, Description on artist and his works in a very appealing manner. I really loved the effort the team put into making that box.
The box we had included the 4 sheets The artist brief, The Design brief, The concept The artist we were given is Eoin O Conner one of ireland's leading contemporary artist, he was commissioned to paint a portrait of Daniel day lewis for the European of multi oscar winning movie Lincon. His unique use of high quality paint on thick canvas results in creating a muti-dimensional perspective for the viewers, his works were striking, uplifting, memorable.
We had given the picture of his works as inspirations and instructed to develop an interactive art experience for promoting tourism.
As the scenario is futuristic,We Planned to Develop an AR app . The name of our app is "PICOWSO" This app can be used in any supermarkets, there will be QR Scanning code, we named it as Cow-R code which will be on the beef section. After scanning the Cow-R code the User can experience the augmented reality, like 3D cows coloured like in Eoin O Conner's paintings, they can also experience different Irish Cow varieties. We thought this feature in a supermarket because it is the common place for both tourists and citizens. The user can also know more about the artist by exploring his works in nearby museum. There is a discount in ticket price if user buys a meat from the shop. Hence its beneficial for shop and museum at the same time.
