Smart lunch Box

This week we totally were shifting from traditional activity and seminar experience to online mode due to COVID-19 which was a bit challenging. The team Liam, Mary, Chidi did their presentation first time online using Zoom and introduced mural to us a collaborative online software were we can come up with online brainstorming. The team presented about IOT in environment, the Air quality and air pollution, Sustainable Farming, Oil/gas spill detection. It was very informative for me because i was working on topic of pollution for my other module and their presentation was very helpful.

After the presentations we were split into 4 different teams and given 4 different design brief based on their presentations, The team created different mural sheets with design brief ready for us to read and start brainstorming, Me, Ryan, Sreejith, michella,Tim

Liam was the facilitator for our activity, At first we were a bit struggling to use the mural but after 5-10 mins we got know how to use it.

Below is the design brief we were given

"As part of their new vision, they want to change the image of the company to make it more environmentally responsible and embrace new technologies while still reflecting creativity and functionality. Existing Product as shown above: Tefal MasterSeal To Go food storage 1.2-litre lunchbox Design Brief Objective Redesign the above product of their products to:

4. Have potential for the technology to transfer to other similar products

The target audience is 16-35 years old.

T'he main point is it can be futuristic" "

We started brainstorming on what all technologies can a smart lunch box have and how could we make it sustainable too. we googled smart lunch box references and found some, we were interested in artificial intelligence and wanted to have it in our smart lunch box. after 30 mins of brainstorming and finding the key functionalities of our lunch box be moved to the final part of designing it.

The Smart lunch box we designed had artificial Intelligence with temperature and content sensors connected to your mobile, smartwatch or laptop.

It also had the ability to track calories and nutrients

We focused on IoTs to enable the sharing of food between friends and as a means of cultural exchange with reduced waste and increased sustainability. These were the key features of our Smart lunch box.
